Douglas Horse Transport are proud and delighted with their Equi-Trek 3.5 tonne Sonic Excel! As a horse transporter the little box is excellently withstanding the wear and tare of the pressures of the job!! The horsebox was bought from Dumfries Equi-Trek; who we also highly recommend for their professional sales and after care . This little box comes very highly recommended from the Douglas Horse Transport team.
What Niamh had to say...
Somehow, Laddie managed to free himself in the trailer and tried to jump over the partition whilst we were still travelling, and I am honestly shocked that it managed to stay up, or even wobble. Laddie continued to crash around to try to get over the partition, and when he eventually did and the trailer went silent everyone feared the worst. We thought we had lost our horse and of course everyone was in hysterics! But when we go to the trailer, everyone was absolutely amazed to find Laddie stood upright, shaken but uninjured except for a few minor cuts and scrapes.
So I cannot Equi-Trek enough for making the trailer so strong and so safe. Everything inside the trailer stayed strong after the accident and has clearly been fantastically made using quality materials, and carefully designed for the safety of the horse, even the partition which for a time was holding up my horse!
We were originally recommended the Equi-Trek trailers by a person who teaches people how to drive wagons and trailers, and they had told us that the Equi-Trek’s are by far the safest and most secure, and I am so glad we took their advice and bought our Equi-Trek.
We will never use anything but a Equi-Trek ever again, and in future we plan to upgrade to a Sonic horsebox. I have posted in horse groups and forums about how safe they are, and we thank you eternally for basically saving our horses life, we are so grateful. Please continue to make safe and secure boxes. We love ours!

I had my first ever experience of it letting me down a couple of weeks ago when the ramp spring broke causing me to abandon hope of going to the show. I purchased the trailer from Barlows who when I rang were no longer dealers but if I purchased the spring they would fit it. I rang you to order the spring but you said that you carried out repairs too so I decided to let you repair it. Your staff were great, they were courteous and showed me exactly what they had repaired when I collected it, even the broken spring and made me try the ramp before leaving to make sure that I was happy with it. The ramp spring must have been broken for some considerable time as it had been back to Barlow's twice for repair because I was unable to lift the ramp and now I can do it virtually one handed.
Please can you give my thanks to the members of staff who dealt with me and you shall definately see the trailer again on its next service..

I know all about the problems and issues Sue has had with hers from day 1 but found that my horse didn't travel well in the Ifor 505 and it was taking a chiffney and lunge line to load him even though he goes out at least once a week. I therefore decided to bite the bullet and take what I thought would be a gamble on buying an Equi-Trek - i found a Space Treka M second hand and was delighted when we (Sue and I) went to view and it turned out that even though it was the same age as Sues it had none of the niggles hers seemed to have and was in A1 condition.
I bought it and after practising loading, travelled my horse in it on Sunday to a fun ride a good hour away - what a difference - he loads well and for the first time I haven't had to wash him down on arrival - in the 505 he used to literally sit on the back bar so that even on short journeys his rump was covered in poo by arrival (he was so unbalanced that he would not even move off the back bar to go the toilet) !! he also never ate any hay on a journey (he couldn't reach it as he was sat on the bar). Once at the top of a windy hill by an open cornfield rather than get agitated when tied to his trailer he just settled down immediately !!
The next day after the ride he yet again loaded without any aids (except for the magical pony nuts !!).I know that there is a lot of bad mouthing with regards to Equi-treks on the forums etc at the moment and just wanted to say how delighted I am with mine.
